Sign Language

Speak with handshape, place and face, in a grammar that lives in space

Free video courses and community classes are plentiful, so starting costs nothing — but this language cannot be learned alone, because signing at a screen never builds the ability to receive. Accept early that facial expression is grammar rather than emotion: where your eyebrows sit can decide whether a sentence is a question.

First stepUse free videos to learn twenty everyday signs and the manual alphabet, then enrol in a community class where someone can sign back to you.
