Ballroom & Latin

A dozen dances inside one system, with graded exams and competitions

This is really a system rather than a dance: five standard and five Latin dances, each with prescribed figures and graded syllabuses, so the path is unusually clear. Progressing seriously requires a regular partner, which is the sharpest difference from social dancing. Costs are lessons and, if you compete, costumes.

First stepBook a trial ballroom class, try one standard dance such as the waltz and one Latin such as the cha-cha, and get through a basic figure in each.
