Figure Skating

Jumps and spins do not happen without a coach watching

What separates it from ordinary skating is that it cannot be self-taught: the timing inside a jump or a spin does not transfer from video, and learning it wrong invites injury. A first group class costs little more than a public session. The expense arrives later, in three parts: coaching, ice time, and proper boots and blades. Adults can start at the entry levels.

First stepSign up for an adult learn-to-skate class in rental skates, and work up to holding a one-foot glide for three seconds.
