Tea Ceremony

A fixed sequence of movements and vessels, performed for someone else

Unlike simply drinking tea, here the procedure is the substance: how each vessel is held, how the water is poured, in what order, all fixed, so what you practise is movement rather than a recipe. Vessels are bought as a set, which is where the money goes. It assumes someone across from you; alone you rehearse, but the finished form is serving a guest.

First stepTake a trial tea ceremony class, learn one complete sequence of movements, and serve a cup to a guest.
