Range rules come first; accuracy is a later problem

Ranges charge by the hour, firearms can be rented, and ammunition is the recurring cost. The first thing taught is not accuracy but procedure: where the muzzle points, when a round goes in, when hands come off, and those become reflex in the first session. The technical part is breathing and not adding movement at release.

First stepBook a first-timer lesson with a range officer, go through the safety rules, and shoot one target sheet under supervision.
