Weather Watching
Instruments at home, a record kept daily, and forecasts you make yourself
What separates it from cloud watching is measurement: a thermometer, a barometer, or a cheap home station, read daily, because a trend needs numbers. A fast-falling barometer usually warns you earlier than any cloud does. After a year of records your local calls start beating the generic forecast, and the data can feed public observation networks.
First stepGet a cheap home weather station, log temperature and pressure morning and evening for two weeks, and see what followed the day the pressure fell fastest.
