Freediving
No tank: how deep you go is decided by how well you relax
Freediving uses no scuba tank, but it needs specific training in relaxation, movement, equalisation and buddy rescue. Blackout can happen in shallow water: never train alone, and a bystander is not a trained safety buddy. Borrow equipment for an instructor-led introduction without chasing depth or breath-hold times, and do not hyperventilate to extend a dive.
First stepTake an intro freediving course with an instructor, begin with static breath-holds in a pool, and never train alone.
