Peking Opera

Singing, speech, movement and combat, and your role type is fixed early

Peking opera is not one skill but four — singing, stylised speech, movement and staged combat — and you commit early to a role type, because the training paths for them differ and cannot be combined. For an adult, an amateur society is the realistic entry, starting with one aria. Costume is a much later concern.

First stepVisit a Peking opera amateur club, pick one role type, and learn the first two lines of an aria from a teacher.
