Saxophone

You get one decent note on day one, which few instruments allow

The embouchure and the reed are what actually take time. One different reed on the same mouthpiece changes the whole tone, and reeds are consumables that soften and get thrown away. The barrier people underestimate is volume: practising in an apartment means a rented room or a mute. Adult beginner classes are easy to find, and horns can be rented before you buy one.

First stepRent an alto sax, take a beginner lesson, learn to fit the reed and set your embouchure, and hold one steady long note.
