Taekwondo

The kick has to reach head height, so flexibility is the first gate

Adult classes and belts are well established; after a trial class, a dobok is all you need. Kicking is the signature, so flexibility decides how far you get, and adults spend the first half year stretching. Poomsae forms and sparring are two separate tracks, and since many schools lean towards forms, ask before joining if you want to fight. Pads become mandatory once contact starts.

First stepTry an adult class, learn the front kick and a basic punch, and ask whether the school leans towards forms or sparring.
