Diabolo
Two sticks, one string, and a humming spool you throw into the sky
A diabolo is a two-headed spool spun on a string between two hand sticks. A set costs little, and you'll often find groups practising in parks. First you learn to spin it up, pulling with one hand and feeding with the other, since a slow spool tilts and drifts. Then come throws, wraps and climbs. A plastic, double-headed one survives beginners best.
First stepBuy a plastic double-headed diabolo, spin it up on open ground until it stays level for thirty seconds, then try one low throw and catch.
