Foraging
Eat only what you are certain of, and walk the same route by season
The common practice is learning one route well, because the same ground gives you different things through the year: greens in spring, berries in summer, nuts in autumn. There is one iron rule — if you are not certain, you do not eat it, and looking similar is not knowing. Avoid roadsides and sprayed ground however good the pickings look.
First stepJoin a local foraging walk or someone who knows, and learn one plant you can't mistake, such as blackberry, before picking any.
