Running

Shoes and a door; the hard part is running slowly enough

Your usual trainers and a flat local route are enough to try alternating walking and running. It is tempting to add speed and distance early; start at a pace where you can talk, with rest days between outings. Note how long you walked and ran, and how it felt. Settle into that amount before increasing it.

First stepChoose a flat route and warm up by walking. Try a few rounds of one minute jogging and ninety seconds walking at a pace where you can talk, with a rest day before the next run.
