Disc Golf

Throw a disc down a fairway into a metal basket, usually for free

Public courses are generally free, which is the sharpest difference from golf: three discs — putter, midrange, driver — cost less than a meal out. Scoring works like golf, and eighteen holes is three or four kilometres of walking. Power comes from rotation rather than the arm, and over-using the arm is the standard mistake.

First stepBring only a midrange disc, since drivers can wait, and play the front nine at a no-fee course, counting every throw.
