Falling is part of the practice; learn to step off first
A complete board and pads is the start. The first thing to practise is not a trick but pushing, turning and stepping off deliberately, because being able to bail halves how often you actually fall. Adults learn slower than children, but what is slower is nerve rather than capability. Skateparks usually contain someone willing to teach.
First stepGet a complete board plus wrist guards and knee pads, then on flat ground push ten metres and step off under control.
